Our “Commander”
Another Look into the Past: From the SW1 to the “Commander”
At TeutoDefence, we don’t just focus on modern security technology—we also preserve the history of extraordinary vehicles. Just recently, we proudly showcased the SW1, the first civilian-approved special-purpose vehicle.
▶▶ Our latest highlight: the Dodge WC 58 Radio Car from 1942.
This rare model, with only 2,344 units ever produced, belongs to the family of 3/4-Ton Command Cars—a series that included the WC 56, WC 57, and WC 58, with a total production of approximately 29,510 vehicles between 1942 and 1944.
The WC 58, also known as the “Commander,” played a crucial role as a mobile radio station in military operations. Its robust construction and advanced engineering set new standards for functionality and reliability.
Thanks to our dedicated workshop crew, our “Commander” has now been restored to its original condition—a remarkable piece of history brought back to life.
